About Us

     Bream Optometry has been serving the Santa Barbara county since 2004 & Ventura county since 2020. Our office prides itself on a highly trained staff, advanced equipment, and exceptional Doctors.

 

The practice is owned and run by Dr. Cory Bream and is conveniently located inside the both the Goleta & Oxnard Costcos, next to the optical center.  

 

Dr. Bream has work to establish an affordable and accessible service for all that is trusted by the Santa Barbara county & Ventura county community and surrounding cities.

Dr. Cory Bream

Dr. Cory Bream has owned and operated Bream Optometry in Goleta since 2004 and in Oxnard since December of 2020.  Originally from Orange County, California, she graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1993 (renamed Marshall B Ketchum University).

 

As owner of Bream Optometry, a private practice, Dr. Bream has invested in only the most efficient and advanced technology available in order to provide her patients with excellent care and fabulous diagnostic tools. Her mission is to serve the Ventura and Santa Barbara communities with the best eye care possible.​

 

Dr. Bream enjoys traveling, sports, the outdoors, and most importantly being a mother to her two children and dog.

Dr. Tony Sadighpour

Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Sadighpour completed his undergraduate education from Georgia Tech. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2001. Tony moved to LA around 2005 and has been practicing in the surrounding areas since. Tony joined the Bream Optometry team in December of 2020 when we expanded to Oxnard. 

Outside of work, Dr. Sadighpour enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife and two kids. Tony also loves the Lakers.

Dr. Monica Luong

Dr. Monica Luong OD has been working at Bream Optometry as a doctor since October of 2022. She grew up in the bay area but fell in love with Santa Barbara when she was completing her degree in Biopsychology at UCSB in 2016. During that time, Monica also worked as an optometric technician at Bream Optometry. After UCSB, she then graduated from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry. She completed her clinical rotations in disease at the Fort Defiance Indian Health reservation in New Mexico; in primary care at Pinecone Vision Center in Sartell, Minnesota; and in ophthalmology/optometry practice Barnett Dulaney Perkins in Arizona.

Dr. Luong is happy to see all patients, from pediatric to geriatric with various conditions including but not limited to diabetes, contact lens, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. During school she took part in various volunteering groups and conducted and published a research capstone project on vision rehabilitation. Dr. Luong is dedicated to providing accessible vision care to all who need it.

When not in the office, Dr. Luong loves trying new restaurants, attending music festivals, traveling, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Dr. John Krochmal

Dr. Krochmal, a Ventura County native, graduated in 2020 from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry and has been working at the Oxnard location since February of 2021. He completed his externships at Crownpoint IHS in New Mexico, Pacific Islands VA in Hawaii, and at the San Rafael Community Clinic. He also participated in service trips providing eye care to underserved communities in rural Nicaragua and Taiwan. He also belonged to the Betta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and received multiple scholarships for excellence in clinical practice. 

 

Outside of work he enjoys surfing, scuba diving, and traveling around the world. Dr. Krochmal is excited to be working on the Bream Team and providing care to those in the community.

Dr. Monica Ramos

Dr. Ramos graduated in 2019 from Southern California School of Optometry and has since worked at the Oxnard Costco Optometry since December of 2020. The Southern California native completed her externships at VA Tucson, University Eye Center at Los Angeles, US Naval Medical Hospital in San Diego and Ketchum Health. During school Monica volunteered through SVOCH to help[ provide care to underprivileged communities. Dr. Ramos is very thankful for that program for giving her the opportunity to travel to places such as El Salvador to serve the community.

Outside of work you might find Monica at a Laker or Dodger game, snowboarding, spending time with family, or anything else outdoors! Monica is excited to be working on the Bream Team to take care of those in our community!

Dr. Sandra Chou

Dr. Chou grew up in Vancouver, and earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She then pursued her Doctorate of Optometry at the prestigious UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she was awarded scholarships for clinical excellence and graduated with honors.  

 

In addition to the UC Berkeley Eye Center, Dr. Chou has completed externships with strong emphasis in ocular disease at the Southern Oregon VA Rehabilitation Center, the Portland VA Medical Center, the UC Santa Cruz Health Center, and the UCSF-John Muir Berkeley Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Chou is also passionate about community outreach and has volunteered at various schools throughout the East Bay to provide vision screenings for pre K and elementary school children. 

 

In her free time, Dr. Chou enjoys travelling, photography, and going on adventures with her dog.

Dr. Rupert chowins

Dr Chowins joined the Bream Optometry team in July of 2020 and has been working with us since. In addition to assisting Bream Optometry, Rupert works at San Luis Obispo Eye Associates.  Since 2006, he had been involved with Surgical Eye Missions of Guatemala with Hospital de La Familia. Dr Chowins has also served as an optometric clinic director for eye surgical mission trip to Hospitalito Santiago de Atitlan Guatemala since 2012. In 2009, he started the Noor Free Clinic, a free eye clinic in San Luis Obispo, serving the uninsured of the area and has been the eye clinic director since it opened. 

 

When not working, Dr Chowins enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking with his wife Elizabeth in Los Osos and everywhere they travel together.
